EP239 - How to deadhead a Cool wave pansy

On Todays 5minute Friday, we are going to show you, how to deadhead a cool wave pansy.

This is a Cool Wave Pansy basket, they are a trailing pansy, and are fantastic for adding colour through the winter, in baskets or on the patio.  Look how it just cascades over the sides.

If you are growing them, you may want to know how to deadhead them, which is really simple. This plant thrives in the colder weather, so we won’t be deadheading quite as much as you would in the spring.

So we are looking for blooms that have gone off, so if they are standing proud and not wrinkled over, that won’t need deadheading. Look around for flowers that are slightly curled over, or just not looking it’s best. Go to the base of the stem the flower sits on, and just pinch it off with your fingers. Work your way around the plant, and also remove any dead flower heads too.

This is where 5 minute Friday started, by spending 5 minutes doing something, that has a huge impact, in not a lot of time.

Please browse our Pre Planted Cool Wave baskets and all our Cool Wave Pansy's here.

They are all ready to despatch now, fabulous colours !
