EP173 - How to cut back Lemon Verbena plants and make better plants

Intro

Hi everyone, Alan from Newlands Nursery.

Today I am showing you how to cut back your Lemon Verbena. I have 2 varieties, the regular green leaf lemon verbena, and the golden verbena.

You can see the difference in the plants, the green one we cut back 6 weeks ago. This can seem a bit like sacrilege, but it really is the best way to keep your plant healthy and growing. It will encourage it to be more compact and have many more leaves.

Description

Cuttings

1. Watch closely how I take the cutting, finding a branch, and then trimming the tips too.

2. It may not look to pretty just yet, but believe me, it will be looking fabulous soon.

3. Use any cuttings you have taken, in a lovely lemony tea or for cooking.
