Potting Up Plug Plants
This week I’m showing you how to pot up Salvia plug plants in a 9cm pot.
Now is the perfect time to start planting up your Salvias, giving them time to establish and thrive before filling your garden with colour through the summer, all the way to the autumn.
Whether you've grown them before, or are a new Salvia grower, these beautiful plants are the perfect addition to any garden, and require little input to thrive.
What You’ll Need:
-
Salvia Plug plants
-
A Pot
- Water
- Compost
Step-by-Step:
- Start by filling your pot with compost almost to the top.
- Make a hole with a finger, just large enough to drop your plugs in.
- Drop the plugs in, there's no need to push them down.
- Fill in the gaps around the plug.
- Water and either keep the plant somewhere frost free until warmer weather, or you can stick them outside straight away.
Aftercare:
Salvias love full-sun and well-drained soil, so keeping them somewhere nice and sunny and watering conservatively is the best way to ensure your plants flower for as long as possible.
