Planting Strawberries
This week I’m showing you how to pot up Strawberry plants
Whether you've grown your plants from a seed, or just got a delivery of established plants, potting your Strawberries up in a pot or the ground may be your first thought, but there are varieties that are absolutely perfect for hanging baskets!
While our advice will still ring true for the other planting positions, planting your Strawberries in a hanging basket will offer you an amazing hanging basket, as well as delicious fruit, so its a real win-win!
What You’ll Need:

Strawberry plants
-
A Hanging Basket
- Water
- Compost
Step-by-Step:
- Start by filling your pot with compost just enough to let your plants sit level with the top of the pot.
- Place your plants in an arrangement you think you will like.
- Once you're happy with the arrangement, fill in the gaps around them with compost.
- Water regularly as fruiting plants are very thirsty, especially in a hanging basket as it will drain more freely than if the plants were in the ground..
Aftercare:
Water your plants regularly, making sure they have plenty of water (especially with the weather we are having!), and make sure to feed them every other week. This will keep them growing, and offer you the best chance to enjoy incredible fresh fruit all through the growing season!
