Potting Up Plug Plants
This week I’m showing you how to pot up plug plants, similar to many of the plants we offer on our website. This is of course important for keeping your plants alive, even more so for tender plants that want to be in out of the frost and cold.
What You’ll Need:
-
Plug plants
-
Pots
- Water
- Compost
Step-by-Step:
- Start by filling your pot with compost, leaving a little room to form a well for the water.
- Make a hole with a finger, just large enough to drop your plugs in.
- Drop the plugs in, there's no need to push them down.
- Fill in the gaps around the plug.
- Water and keep the plant somewhere frost free until ready to pot on (ignore if planting a hardy plant that can withstand the cold)
Aftercare:
Keeping your plants frost free and the soil damp (not soaking!) should offer you the best chance for planting them on when the weather is a little better and the plant is a little larger.
