Double Chamomile Herb Plant

Chamaemelum nobile 'Flore Pleno'
About the Chamomile 'Family': Chamomile is a herbaceous, daisy like perennial plant from the Asteraceae family. Chamaemelum nobile goes by many names including Roman Chamomile, English Chamomile or Garden Chamomile and is the variety most widely known for its medicinal and ornamental uses. It's a low growing plant often found growing in fields which has daisy like flowers and soft, downy leaves. Chamomile is well known for it's use in teas and is reputed to be a calming agent which induces sleep and reduces stress.
About Chamomile Double: A double-flowered variety of Roman Chamomile. As with all Chamomiles this plant is very low growing and is great for groundcover with it's evergreen mat of ferny leaves. Brilliant as an ornamental Chamomile due to its attractive, fluffy white flowers in early summer. Apart from being very pretty, the flowers are also great for drying and using to make tea.
Growing only a height of around 15cm but spreading to about 30cm, this plant makes for excellent groundcover. As with all chamomile they prefer a well drained soil and a sunny spot. This is not a plant that likes the shade but I quiet happy to grow in a pot.
