Introduction
Hi everyone, Alan from Newlands Nursery.
Today we are going to show you, how to improve your bedding plants, ready for the summer.
Let's start with deadheading, I have these beautiful Petunias, already flowering, as you will see some flowers are going off, so we nip those off at the stem, as shown in video.
Geraniums we deadhead in a slightly different way, and also we want to 'stop' them to encourage growth, producing more stems and foliage, therefore giving us way more flowers to enjoy. I will nip the stems out in the video, so you can see how to do it.
This method bushes the plants out lower down, and then makes it more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Instructions
1. Watch the video for demonstrations. I do this with my fingers, but you can use scissors if you prefer.
2. Deadhead and stop plants, to promote further growth.
