Thyme 'Creeping Red' forms a dense, low-growing mat that brings subtle texture to garden borders and rockeries. This cultivar is known for its rich, reddish-tinged foliage that adds a warm, earthy tone to planting schemes. It produces small, delicate flowers that provide gentle seasonal interest. Its spreading habit makes it an excellent ground cover, helping to suppress weeds and stabilise soil.

Creeping Red Thyme - Plant information

Size: Grows to a low height of around 5 cm and can spread up to 30 cm, creating a dense ground cover.

Position: Thrives in full sun to partial shade. Suitable for rockeries, borders, and herb gardens where it can spread freely.

Feeding etc: Apply a balanced fertiliser in early spring if growth appears slow. Prune lightly after flowering to promote a tidy appearance.

Care: Prefers well-drained soil and benefits from occasional watering during dry spells. Trim lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage fresh growth. Avoid heavy fertilising to keep the plant compact and healthy.
