Bush Fuchsia Carmel Blue is an elegant upright fuchsia with dark green leaves. It produces flowers with white sepals with purple corollas, during summer until first frosts. This variety deserves to take centre stage, in either a planting scheme or a patio pot.

Bush Fuchsias make a striking effect in garden pots and containers. They are easy to grow and provide instant impact for all gardens, patios or balconies. They are much loved for their bi coloured blooms, with thousands of varieties, in numerous vibrant shades available.
Fuchsias are a fabulous option for British gardens, because they can really tolerate our unpredictable climate. The outer petals, are called sepals, they protect the flower petals underneath. Fuchsias are known, for attracting bees and butterflies.

About the Bush Fuchsia Carmel Blue

    Care Instructions

Fuchsia are easy to grow, all they want is some sun and well drained soil, in a sheltered place. If your plants are in the ground, water once or twice a week, if they are in containers, they need watering more frequently.

    Position, sunlight and more

Plant Fuchsias in sun or partial shade. They enjoy shelter, or their delicate sepals can blow away.

    Height and Spread

Carmel Blue will grow to a height and spread of around 30-50cm

    Feeding, Pruning & more

Feeding - Fuchsias do benefit from a liquid feed, now and again, to help deliver more nutrients to them. During bloom season you can add feed around twice a week.
Pruning - Mid Spring, cut back your plants, near to ground level, this will stimulate new, strong growth.
Propagation - Cuttings are a good idea, this will enable you to have free new plants for the next season.

Our pot & plant size explained

At Newlands Nursery we grow and sell plants in a variety of different sizes, from small starter plants up to planted containers.

We know it can be tricky to picture the size of each plant. This page gives you an idea of the size of the plants we are sending out.

Please keep in mind that plants vary from one season to the next. The size of the plant refers to the pot or plug it is grown in, rather than the height of the plant, unless specifically mentioned on the plant page.

    Starter Plant (Plug Plant)

Plug Size: 2cm by 4cm. Our most popular size. This is often the most economical way of buying plants and is a great way to get a head start on the season. Generally this size is best to be potted up before planting out.

    Jumbo Plug

Plug Size: 6cm by 7cm. A fantastic alternative to a 9cm pot and saves on plastic too. The plants in this size are well established and give you a head start. This size is perfect for planting straight into containers and baskets as well as the garden.
