About our plant sizes

Lemon Thyme is an aromatic, creeping herb with a strong, lemony fragrance. It is great for adding flavour to both, hot and cold drinks or used as you would any other Thyme. The leaves themselves are grey-green while the flowers are tiny and white.

Nowadays, thyme is infused into ice cream, making it a foody favourite. Or add to roasted peaches or a strawberry tart!

Thyme can be used both fresh or dried with fresh leaves able to be frozen to retain their flavour and dried Thyme retaining its flavour much better than most herbs. Thyme is very commonly used as part of a bouquet garni and as a component of herbes de Provence. The leaves are often used to add flavour to stews, salads, roasts and fish dishes.

    Thyme Lemon - Plant information

Size: Thyme Lemon grows up to a height of around 15cm and spread up to 35cm.

Position: Thyme likes a warm, sunny place. The more sun, the stronger the flavour. Makes for a perfect windowsill herb.

Feeding etc: Feeding - Thyme doesn't like rich soil, but will enjoy a high potash plant food in the spring.
Pruning - Your herbs can be picked all year around. Trim after flowering to keep them compact and promote new growth.
Propagation - Cuttings are best way, to grow new plants. They don't take long to root, then you can transfer to a pot or the ground. Cuttings should be at least 3" long.

Care: Thyme, once established, is usually unfussy. They just don't like things too cold and damp. Pop in well drained soil. They need watering in while establishing, then they rarely need watering, except when it's warm and especially dry.
