Trailing Geranium Decora Dark Rose 3 Plants
A garden would not feel like summer without geraniums. A staple plant for the summer months with good reason. When it comes to "bang for your buck" it is hard to beat a geranium. They will flower and flower from late spring all the way into the autumn.
Geranium Decora Dark Rose is a fantastic single flowering variety that produces a very large amount of flowers. The flowers are pale pink and almost white in the centre and get darker in pink to almost bright purple at the end. Will trail up to 60cm.
Is this plant "garden ready"
Maybe, we prefer our plug plants (also known as starter plants) to be potted up before going into the garden. The ideal size is a 9 cm pot (you can also plant straight into a basket), but it can be slightly smaller or larger if you would prefer. In the warmer months, you may get away with planting straight out, but it is probably not worth the risk.
Are these not Pelargoniums rather than Geraniums?
Yes, they are. We tend to use the word Geranium as that is used more commonly but Pelargonium is the correct name.
What is the difference between an "Ivy" Geranium and a "Trailing" Geranium?
Nothing! these are just different terms for the same thing. Ivy/Trailing geraniums are the type of geranium that will flow over the side of a hanging basket or container.
Should I deadhead my Geranium?
You don't have to but if you do you will be treated to more flowers throughout the flowering period
Why has my Geranium plant been cut at the top?
This is known as stopping. The plants you get may not be stopped. The reason we do this is that it will help the plants bush out, create more stems and produce more flowers.
What compost should I use?
A good quality multipurpose compost is ideal for this. You can use your own compost but make sure you know that it is not too high (or low) in nutrients.
Will I get the plants in the picture?
Yes, In the main picture. As this plant is a starter plant it will not be flowering but will grow to be the same as the picture. The plug plant picture is used to give you an idea of the size and may not be the same variety.
What is a plug plant?
A plug plant is a small starter plant that is perfect to pot up into a larger plant. We grow and sell so many of these because they allow us to do it for such a good price.
Is the plug plant in the picture the one I will get?
No, we use this picture just to give you an idea of the size of the plant.
