Gaillardia (common name blanket flower) is a genus of flowering plants in the sunflower  family,  It was named after Maître Gaillard de Charentonneau, an 18th-century French magistrate who was an enthusiastic botanist. The common name may refer to the resemblance to the brightly patterned blankets made by Native Americans, 
Free-flowering, Gaillardia x grandiflora 'Arizona Red Shades' (Blanket Flower) is a bushy, herbaceous perennial with large, crimson red flowers, some with yellow tips. Blooming from early summer, the daisy-like flowers cover the compact, uniform, well-branched mound of bright green foliage.
Arizona Red Shades,  is undemanding, providing fabulous colour whatever the weather. Perfect for containers or filling gaps in the front of borders.
