    Beginner's Houseplant Collection – 6 Easy-to-Grow Plants - Plant information

    Size:

Position: Place your houseplants in a bright room with plenty of natural light, but avoid strong direct sunlight unless the individual plant's label recommends it.

Most houseplants are happiest in bright, indirect light. Keep them away from cold draughts, radiators and sudden changes in temperature.

As your collection contains different varieties, check each plant's label for any specific positioning requirements.

Feeding etc: Feeding – Feed during the main growing season, usually spring through summer, with a suitable liquid houseplant feed. Reduce or stop feeding during autumn and winter when growth naturally slows.

Pruning – Remove yellowing or damaged leaves as required and trim back untidy growth to keep your plants looking their best. Different varieties will naturally grow at different rates and in different shapes.

Propagation – Propagation methods vary depending on the plants included in your collection. Many houseplants can be propagated from cuttings or by division once they are established.

Care: We've selected the plants in this collection because they're relatively straightforward to care for, making them a great choice for anyone starting out with houseplants.

Check the compost regularly and water when the top layer begins to feel dry. Avoid leaving plants sitting in water, as overwatering is one of the most common problems with houseplants.

Individual varieties may have slightly different requirements, so always check the plant label supplied with each plant for more specific care
