5 Minute Friday - Potting Up Scented Geranium Plugs

Potting Up Plug Plants

This week I’m showing you how to pot up Scented Geranium (Pelargonium) plug plants in order to fill your garden with amazing flowers and stunning scents all summer long.

Scented Geraniums are incredibly popular, however one thing to note is you want to hold off potting yours up until all the frosts have passed. Depending on the size of your pot you may be able to keep it on a windowsill, but if its colder where you live it may be worth waiting a little longer into the Spring.

What You’ll Need:

  • Scented Geranium Plug plants

  • A Pot

  • Water
  • Compost

Step-by-Step:

  1. Start by filling your pot with compost almost to the top.
  2. Make a hole with a finger, just large enough to drop your plugs in.
  3. Drop the plugs in, there's no need to push them down.
  4. Fill in the gaps around the plug.
  5. Water and keep the plant somewhere frost free until warmer weather.

Aftercare:

Keeping your geraniums frost free and the soil damp (not soaking!) should offer you the best chance for your plants to remain stunning all summer long.
